Welcome to etcetera!

Greetings and welcome to etcetera Art Blog!  I am your art teacher at fabulous Roosevelt Elementary.

A little bit about me . . .

A California native raised in San Diego, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Art Studio from U.C. Davis and a Single Subject Clear Teaching Credential in Art at San Diego State University.  I moved to Oakland in 1988 where I worked for several years as a freelance illustrator creating greeting cards and a series of four nature board books for Chronicle Books.  I now devote my time to teaching art and raising my son Isaac.  I also continue to paint small gouache and acrylic paintings with a focus on nature and children.  To see a sampling of my work, click on Galleries above.

The name of this blog is etcetera because there is always more to talk about and do when it comes to art!  Art is my passion and I am planning a year of exciting art learning experiences that will connect your child to the power and joy of creating original and expressive works of art.

I am at Roosevelt Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Please come visit me in the art room (room #F01).  I would love to meet you and talk about art!

I look forward to a fun and art filled year at Roosevelt!
